Embark is all about exploring Jewish life. Whether you’re in an interfaith relationship and navigating the complexities of Jewish life today, Embark is a cohort experience that connects you with other local couples and a rabbi to explore Judaism – without the pressure to convert. Connect with other couples in their 20s and 30s and an Embark rabbi as you learn, share, and grow together in a supportive space. Whether you’re curious about tradition or building your own, discover a Jewish life that’s uniquely yours. Embark cohorts consist of 6-10 couples that meet weekly for 6 cohort sessions, a retreat, and a Shabbat dinner.

Rabbi Boris Dolin

Rabbi Boris Dolin is the rabbi of Congregation Dorshei Emet in Montreal. He is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and received an M.A. in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Before moving to Montreal, Boris served as the rabbi of Beit Polska, the Union of Progressive Congregations in Poland, where he led a multi-congregational community working to help rebuild Jewish life in Poland. His rabbinate has focused on bringing participatory music, experiences in nature, interfaith dialogue, social justice and creative spirituality to his congregants. 

Rabbi Boris served on the first cohort for 18 Doors, an outreach and support group for interfaith and multi-heritage couples, has staffed multiple Honeymoon Israel trips and is active in fighting for interfaith inclusion in Montreal and in Canada. Boris fills his time outside of work with far too many hobbies, including running, woodworking, knitting, juggling, and recently joined a competitive hip hop dance team. Boris lives in Montreal with his wife, Sarah, and his children, Elijah, Ezra and Nehama.
