Dave Press

Sr. Director of Advancement, SME

Charlotte, NC

As Senior Director of Advancement, Dave secures local funding and resources to enable incredible young leaders to build the Jewish communities of their dreams. He’s had a lifelong love of Jewish communal engagement, something he gets to experience firsthand as he travels to different Moishe House communities, learning about all the different Residents and community members. Fortunately for Dave, he considers his super power to be “shape shifting,” and he can fit in and feel comfortable wherever he goes and whoever he’s with, which comes in handy in his daily work.

Dave joined Mem Global in 2017 with over 15 years of experience working in the Jewish communal sector. He began his career as a teacher in inner-city Philadelphia before switching gears and finding his niche in experiential Jewish education while serving as the BBYO Regional Director in his hometown of South Florida. Since that time, he has served on the executive teams of the David Posnack Jewish Community Center and the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, in addition to working for a website development firm, serving as a consultant for faith-based and secular nonprofit organizations throughout North America. Most recently, he spent three years as the Dean of Students at the American Hebrew Academy. Dave has a B.A. in political science, as well as a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida.
