Rabbi Alyson Solomon

Rabbi Alyson serves as a Jewish Educational Consultant at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael. She is a courage coach and consultant for people and organizations hungry to align their inner world with their worldly productivity and performance.

Passionate about Judaism as a vibrant wisdom tradition and technology of meaning-making, Rabbi Alyson believes spirituality is asking questions that matter and then living courageously in line with what we hear.

Alyson was ordained by Hebrew College, a pluralistic rabbinical school in Boston and was a founding resident of the Moishe Kavod House in Boston. Moishe, yes, the Moishe of Moishe House, Morris Squire, was one of her congregants at her first congregation in Santa Barbara.

Rabbi Alyson has also served congregations in Los Angeles, San Diego, Cape Town and Eugene. While serving as a Street Rabbi in Venice, CA, and a VP at the Jewish Federation, she drafted and designed NuRoots, a $20-million-dollar Los Angeles initiative to engage 20s & 30s.

A Phi Beta Kappa from Occidental College, Alyson studied international diplomacy and minored in Rastafarianism. She is a yoga instructor and published author of two children’s books: Thank You, Modeh Ani & Listen, Sh’ma and sang and produced: Thank You For This Body. She teaches 1:1 Torah Study for JLC, another branch of Mem Global, as well.

Alyson is a native of Portland, Oregon, influenced by her grandparents’ love of Israel and her parents’ sense of awe. She lives in Eugene and is a lover of text, swimming and soulful living. Most importantly, she is a mama of two vibrant little ones, oh, and she loves a good burger.
