I love Jewish tradition, singing around crowded tables, digging in the dirt, and making ancient wisdom feel fresh and alive. Base Atlanta is a community for post-college folks in their 20s and 30s who are looking for real connection, good conversation, Shabbat meals that turn into singing, and a Judaism you can feel in your bones. We gather for holidays, learning, music, outdoor adventures, and whatever else brings joy and meaning to this journey.
Rabbi Ariel Wolpe

A mother, musician, and experiential educator in love with nature, Ariel creates joyful and grounded Jewish spaces where people can show up as their full selves. She was ordained at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles, after which she spent a year immersed in Jewish music through Hadar’s Rising Song Institute, studying nigunim and recording songs. She has taught across a wide range of settings, including Brandeis Collegiate Institute (BCI), Wilderness Torah, and Beit Teahivah, and is passionate about building community through song, storytelling, and sacred gathering.
Ariel also serves as the founding rabbi of Ma’alot, a spiritual startup in Atlanta that transforms lives through music, nature, and Jewish wisdom. Whether leading Shabbat tish singing, teaching mystic Torah in the woods, or exploring Jewish tradition with seekers of every stripe, she’s always looking for ways to make Jewish life more accessible, embodied, and nourishing.
You can find her music and Torah here or follow her spiritual + musical adventures on TikTok @rabbiimma. Or better yet—come visit her home in Decatur, where she lives with her husband Jon Mitchell, two daughters, two cats, and twelve chickens, and where the table is always open for Shabbat, song, and good conversation..
