Base Denver

Base Denver is home of Rabbi Dave Yedid & Daniel Eisenberg.

We love many things, among them Jewish tradition, food, and Shabbat. Base is a community for post-college young adults in their 20s and 30s. We host Shabbat and Holiday meals, Jewish learning, social events, service events, and immersive experiences, like retreats and backcountry trips.

Rabbi Dave Yedid

Dave is thrilled to be the founding rabbi of Base Denver. A lover of Torah and the natural world, Dave seeks to build Jewish life that is vibrant, open, joyful and deep. He found his voice as a leader and the inspiration to become a rabbi through leading immersive backcountry trips for youth. Prior to rabbinical school, Dave worked as a field guide for a therapeutic wilderness program in Bend, Oregon.

Dave attended Middlebury College, where he earned a BA in Geography with a minor in Dance. A Wexner Graduate Fellow, Dave was ordained by The Jewish Theological Seminary with an MA in Gender Studies in May 2022.

Dave served in various capacities at BaMidbar Wilderness Therapy, Camp Ramah in the Rockies, and NYU’s Bronfman Center. He was a chaplain resident at The New Jewish Home and, most recently, Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Intern at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah.

Dave loves to cook, hike, paint watercolors, and dabble in poetry. Most of all, he is excited to build community in Denver alongside his husband, Daniel.

Daniel Eisenberg

Daniel grew up in London, UK where he was involved in the Masorti Jewish community, in particular his beloved youth movement and summer camp, NOAM. His passion for languages and Torah has brought him to live in France, Germany, Jerusalem and Madagascar.

In 2019, he moved to New York to study at Yeshivat Hadar and Romemu Yeshiva. Prior to coming to the US, Daniel was a child protection social worker in London. He completed his MA in Process Oriented Facilitation and Conflict Studies at the Process Work Institute in Oregon. Since 2018, he has co-facilitated a group called ‘Angels of History’ to process the impacts of intergenerational Jewish trauma.

Beyond his role at Base, Daniel leads process-oriented facilitation for groups and works with individuals as a therapist at Somatic Therapy Partners in Cherry Creek.

Daniel loves swimming, yoga, ecstatic dancing, expressing his emotions, Shabbat naps, German literature and Jewish mysticism.
