Everything that happens at Base is due to the generosity of our donors. While most Base programs are offered free of charge for community members, there are real costs associated with operating a Base location. From the salary and benefits for the Base Rabbi and Base Partner, to the housing subsidy that enables the Base couple to live in a centrally-located home big enough for hosting, to a robust program budget, each Base costs about $210k per year to operate. Each Chanukah, we ask our Basers to make a meaningful gift to support the community that has become their Jewish home, and each Chanukah, their investment has helped us spread even more light in those communities.
