Embark is all about exploring Jewish life in interfaith relationships – without the pressure to convert. Connect with other couples in their 20s and 30s and an Embark rabbi as you learn, share, and grow together in a supportive space. Whether you’re curious about tradition or building your own, discover a Jewish life that’s uniquely yours. Embark cohorts consist of 6-10 couples that meet weekly for 6 cohort sessions, a retreat, and a Shabbat dinner.

Rabbi Noah Westreich

Noah Westreich is originally from Montclair, NJ. He earned his BA from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and his MA and Rabbinic Ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City.

Previously, Rabbi Westreich taught at the Jewish Community Day School of Boston. During his time in Boston, he also served as a rabbi for the Base Movement. During rabbinical school he was the student rabbi of Kolot Chayeinu in Brooklyn and Congregation Beth Jacob in El Centro, CA. Rabbi Westreich learned and taught Talmud at SVARA: A Traditionally Radical Yeshiva. He completed the Talmud Teacher Training and was a fairy (teaching assistant) at SVARA’s Queer Talmud Camp in Marin County.

Rabbi Rena Singer

Rabbi Rena Singer was raised in Seattle, Washington. She earned her B.A. in Philosophy at Brandeis University and spent two years in immersive Jewish text study at the Hadar Institute. She was ordained as a Reform Rabbi from Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in 2020 and served as an associate rabbi at Temple Sholom of Chicago until joining Congregation Emanu-El in 2024.

At Congregation Emanu-El, she currently leads the Tzedek social justice and volunteering initiatives as well as The Women’s Lounge, a Jewish women’s social club for ages 9–90. In rabbinical school, she interned at Central Synagogue and Westchester Reform Temple. She also co-founded Modern Ritual, an online resource that educates tens of thousands of people on how to weave relevant, beautiful Jewish rituals into their day-to-day lives. Rabbi Singer has served on the board of Arise Chicago, which partners with workers and faith communities to fight workplace injustice. She is also a San Francisco Night Minister and serves on the San Francisco Interfaith Council board. Rabbi Singer is a trained Resetting the Table facilitator, helping people build skills for dialogue and connection across political and ideological divides.

Rabbi Singer lives in San Francisco with her husband David, their dog Culver, and their cats Yoyo and Marengo.
