Yoav Yaron was born in Gush-Katif, Israel and currently lives in Stamford, Connecticut where he serves as United Jewish Federation Community Shaliach/Emissary and helps educate communities in Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien to strengthen their bond with Israel.

Prior to his work with Federation, Yoav worked for The Jewish Agency for Israel as Director of Operations for the Shlichut department. After graduating high school from Kibbutz Yave, he joined a Keshet-Yehuda pre-army academy in the Golan Heights for a year before joining the Givaati brigade. Upon completing his service, Yoav was part of an IDF delegation to a Jewish summer camp in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he worked at Camp Interlaken for two summers.

Specializing in advococy and storytelling, Yoav remains passionate about teaching people everywhere about the Jewish communities in the Gaza Strip (Gush-Katif).

Yoav has a B.A from Hebrew University in Comparative Literature and Jewish Studies, a teaching certificate from Kerem Institute in Literature and Israeli Culture, an M.A from Haifa University in American Jewish Studies (The Ruderman Program), and a diploma from the iCetner in Master’s Concentration in Israel Education (iFellow).
