Igniting Your Creativity at the MHWOW Retreat

Why creativity?

Because we are looking for new ways to connect to one another. In the past two years I’ve been working with MHWOW, many of you have told me that you want to create experiences that stand out from the happy hours and other Jewish events in your area. Many of you who have taken the risk to do something different (including me!) have been pleasantly surprised by how receptive your community is to your ideas. This retreat is designed for you to explore your own creativity. Come to get excited about the endless program possibilities for your three years with MHWOW and to have a blast with fellow creative minds!

Who is this retreat for?

Current MHWOW hosts and people who want to become MHWOW hosts. Do you know someone who would be a great MHWOW host? Send them on this retreat, and they’ll be able to start hosting as soon as it’s over!  Is your 3 years of MHWOW coming to an end soon? This is a great time to send one of your friends so the MHWOW programs don’t have to stop for your community!  They’re eligible for up to $100 for their travel, and if they live in a city without a Moishe House, they’re eligible for $250. And as always, retreats are fully-subsidized, aka free for you, so we hope you take advantage of this opportunity.

A Sneak Peek into The WOW Factor

One of the most exciting parts of the weekend will be learning-by-doing on Saturday. Five MHWOW hosts will be leading creative mini MHWOW programs, and you’ll be able to choose which ones you’ll want to attend. Each mini program will be unique to that host and what they’re passionate about. I’ll be the lead facilitator (here’s a bit more about me), and Rabbi Isaiah Rothstein will be our lead educator.  Isaiah serves as the Rabbi-in-residence for Hazon. Growing up in a multi-racial Chabad family in Monsey, NY, Isaiah sees himself as a human bridge, connecting disparate parts of the Jewish community. Isaiah went to Yeshiva University for rabbinical school and to receive his Master of Social Work. During his spare time, Isaiah is a Jewish Engagement and Diversity Consultant with his organization, the Union Street Sanctuary, and plays music with his band Zayah. Isaiah currently lives in Harlem, NY. Isaiah and I are already having way too much fun planning this retreat, and we can’t wait to meet you.
