May the 4th Be With You

By Rabbi Shari Shamah, Jewish Life Specialist

INTRODUCTION:

For some, Star Wars is like prayer. Or a religious moment. It can be spiritual, inspirational and entertaining. May the 4th became a thing in 1982 when a member of the Star Wars family used the phrase, “May the 4th be with you” while working on Return of the Jedi. It has evolved over the years but serves as a clever way to celebrate all things Star Wars on May 4th. Many wonder if there are Jewish themes in the various Star Wars movies. This program allows Moishe residents and community members to put May the 4th in a Jewish context.
