- Check on your neighbors – from a safe distance
- Share your skills online and discover new virtual volunteer opportunities. Here‘s a list of possibilities to help get you started!
- Host a virtual fundraiser to raise money for an organization that can no longer support in-person volunteers, but still needs financial support
- Set up regular virtual visits with isolated people, such as folks in a nursing home or community members that live alone
- Donate to local food banks and pantries
- Support small businesses, especially those impacted by racism and stigmatization
- Support sustainability by starting your own windowsill garden and encouraging others to do the same!
- Support independent artists – buy their art or invite them to do a virtual teach-in and pay them for it
- Volunteer your teaching skills to support home school parents and/or make kits with educational resources for children and families during this time of school closures
- Stay in touch with vulnerable friends and family (don’t forget to check in on your extrovert friends and family who rely on human connection!)
- Give recognition to everyone who’s working in the frontline of this crisis – join the daily round of applause in your city, highlight community members working on the frontline on your social media (with their permission!)
