About Us
At Mem Global, we believe there’s no one way to be Jewish – we’re excited to explore together.
We envision a world where Jewish young adults in their 20s and early 30s have the access and resources needed to build and enjoy a thriving Jewish community, build relationships and move further along their Jewish journey. By making this stage of life one of the most exciting times to be Jewish, young adults are set on a trajectory for lifelong involvement in the Jewish community
Our Story
At Mem Global, we believe that building Jewish community starts with the leaders and participants who shape it. This investment in young adults has been part of our story since 2006, when a group of recent college graduates, caught between being too old for campus programs and too young for the existing institutional offerings, created their own space for Jewish life. With initial support from philanthropist Morris Squire, David Cygielman – now Mem Global’s CEO – and friends hosted their first Shabbat dinner in the Bay Area. To all of their excitement, 73 young adults showed up to celebrate Shabbat and be together, as part of the Jewish community.
What began as one Shabbat dinner grew into the first Moishe House. The concept was simple: a group of post-college Jewish young adults, living together in a house, hosting Jewish programs for their friends and community. That one house sparked a movement, spreading across cities, countries, and continents, to become a global network of young adults hosting thousands of Jewish experiences every year, each as unique as the communities they serve.
Today, as Mem Global, we continue the vision of that first house while expanding our reach and deepening our impact. Through our global suite of programs, we provide Jewish young adults with opportunities to connect, learn, and lead in ways that are meaningful to them. Ultimately, supporting and creating a strong Jewish community for the future.
In 2025, Moishe House introduced Mem Global, the parent organization uniting our suite of peer-driven programs and continuing our mission of supporting Jewish young adults to connect, learn, and lead in ways that are meaningful, authentic, and unmistakably theirs. Today, Moishe Houses, Moishe Pods, Moishe House Without Walls, Mem Global Retreats Learning Retreats, Retreatology, the Jewish Learning Collaborative, Embark, Base and Camp Nai Nai Nai can all be found within the Mem Global family.
