Dave is the Base Rabbi for Base Denver; he and his husband Daniel provide the programming in this vibrant, growing community! Base empowers the best rabbinic leadership in North America to build a new type of pluralistic, communal rabbinate. Base Denver is an inclusive, deep, home-based community for Jews ages 22-35 seeking meaningful learning and community. Dave believes Jewish community can be nourishing, deep, and transformative for everyone, no matter their background.

Dave has called New York, Vermont, Oregon, Colorado, and Jerusalem home. He graduated from Middlebury College and holds an MA in Gender Studies and received rabbinic ordination from The Jewish Theological Seminary. Dave found his calling to become a rabbi through his roles as a wilderness guide at Camp Ramah in the Rockies and in therapeutic wilderness settings. Dave loves cooking Shabbat meals, being outdoors, and dancing. He and Daniel are thrilled to co-create community in Denver, within the walls of their home and in Colorado’s great outdoors!
