Sometimes a weekend lasts a lifetime 💚🔨🌲🪴🌎
Last month, folks joined us in Portland, Oregon for an impactful, justice-centered retreat with @tivnu where we:
👂heard from resident Scott about the Dignity Village’s history and inner workings for folks seeking shelter
❤️🩹discussed the intersection of environmentalism, housing justice, and community care
🐔helped feed goats and build chicken coops & Cat-io’s/tiny house decks for residents @hazelnutgrove
🌿weeded some of the community farms with Kindness Farms
🍽️ shared a meal with the residents of City Teams and heard about their stories and work with the organization
We are excited for future collaborations with Tivnu and Mem Global! 💚
📌 Know a high school grad looking for a Jewish gap year focused on social justice in Portland? Check out their upcoming info session!

Tikkun Olam – Where Learning Meets Impact
Budapest, Hungary
This retreat combines meaningful learning with hands-on experience, and invites you to explore the concept of Tikkun Olam and bring it to life through direct service. We will unpack the roots and evolving meaning of Tikkun Olam, reflect on its relevance today, and consider how Jewish values can guide our choices. Through volunteering and shared discussion, we will learn from one another’s experiences, perspectives, and ideas. This is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and act, while transforming learning into meaningful impact and discovering how small, intentional steps can contribute to repairing the world around us.

Embark Tikkun Olam
Denver, CO
Embark on a weekend of connection, fun and Tikkun Olam. Join Mem Global in Denver, CO as we host future Embark participants and Embark Alumni from all over to join together for hands-on Jewish Service Learning! During your time in Denver, we’ll enjoy a group Shabbat experience and hands on community service in the heart of downtown Denver. We can’t wait to have you join us in making an impact while learning about the roots of service learning in Judaism and how you can incorporate these values and wisdom into your everyday lives.
This retreat is generously subsidized by Repair the World. In addition, this retreat will not be Shabbat observant, and the meals will be vegetarian but not kosher certified (subject to change).
What is Embark? Embark is all about exploring Jewish life in interfaith relationships – without the pressure to convert. Connect with other couples in their 20s and 30s and an Embark rabbi as you learn, share, and grow together in a supportive space. Whether you’re curious about tradition or building your own, discover a Jewish life that’s uniquely yours.
