Mia is creative, intelligent, and above all, open-minded and capable. Together, we shared many years in the community we’ve been a part of for almost 20 years, Tnuá Israel Hatzeirá. Mia was a leader (madrijá) for many groups and dedicated her last years in the movement to specializing in the educational field, serving as the Rosh Jinuj of the movement and organizing the educational platform for all participants (janijim) and those who were to become leaders (madrijim). She led seminars for the entire team on several occasions, training them and providing new knowledge to support their role as leaders. In 2017, she participated in Shnat Hajshará, a 10-month seminar in Israel where she received various training in both Judaism and Zionism. She continues to be actively involved in the movement by providing training in Judaism and Zionism for future leaders.
Moreover, I believe she is very capable of leading different sessions on this topic, as I hope we can build a retreat where we can learn about history, read our sources, and where our history invites us to reflect on the present. Mia has a lot of family in Israel, including her sister, Eliana Rapp, who is the Head of the Educational Team at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum in Israel, which keeps her in close contact with her family and with what is happening in Israel. I believe this connection will be very helpful in creating the link I hope to establish between our reflections on Purim, the movement within our identity, and the current events in Israel.
Additionally, Mia is very creative; she was the leader of my previous retreat, and what most participants highlighted at the end was the good impression they had of Mia as a leader, thanks to everything she brought forward and the engaging dynamics she created.
