IDF reservist connects with art during war

Moishe House Jerusalem resident Elyasaf Maymon never expected to have a solo art show in Jerusalem while completing reserve duty in the Israel Defense Forces. The show developed after Israeli comedian and journalist Hanoch Daum posted pictures of Elyasaf’s work on Instagram. “I feel that everything I do in my life comes down to the act of ‘creating’, and when you create something, you pour into it all of your personal life and all that you do in life,” Elyasaf told attendees. In addition to his art, Elyasaf is known for hosting Shabbat dinners and artistic events and workshops at the Jerusalem Moishe House. Watch the i24NEWS feature here.
