Mem Moment | Creating a Routine

Counting the Omer

Here we are, once again beginning to count the Omer! The Omer is a 49 day mitzvot period that starts on the second day of Passover and ends with Shavuot. In the northern hemisphere, it also perfectly correlates to counting us from a rainy spring season to a brighter sunnier summer! Every day during the Omer, we are commanded to count the day in the Omer period, twice in fact if you do the mitzvah as it is commanded! (If this is your first time, I have a friendly how to guide thanks to our friends at MyJewishLearning here for you.)

I am a person of daily routine, for me it’s grinding and brewing my coffee by hand every day that gives me a moment of me time. This started as a chore that I have grown to appreciate and cherish every morning. Counting the Omer is a temporary change of pace for us and an opportunity to introduce a new routine. What’s one routine you want to try to implement?
