Passover Chocolate Seder

By Rabbi Shari Shamah, Jewish Life Specialist

OVERVIEW:

The Goal of a chocolate seder is to allow participants to learn and highlight the themes of the Passover seder while being a little silly and decadent with the chocolate. This program can be done before Passover (food costs go down a little), or during Passover as a fun program.

MATERIALS:

PROGRAM OUTLINE (1 hour)

  • There are a few ways to do this program. You can highlight the main points of the Passover story (Israelites were oppressed, plagues, left Egypt, crossing of the Red Sea, didn’t have time to let bread rise, have a seder so our children will know what it was like to go forth to freedom, symbols on seder plate)
  • Or, there are scripts for chocolate seders online
